The 2019 National Champion Flint City Bucks will embark upon their second USL2 regular season at Kettering’s historic Atwood Stadium with a match against Grand Rapids FC on Saturday evening, May 16th.  Grand Rapids is one of five new franchises that have joined the Great Lakes Division in advance of the 2020 season. The other new members include AFC Ann Arbor, Louisville City FC (U23), Oakland County FC (Clawson, MI) and South Bend Lions FC.  The Great Lakes Division now has 8 teams, as Chicago FC United and West Virginia Alliance FC have been relocated to other divisions for geographical balance. The 2020 members of the Great Lakes Division include: AFC Ann Arbor, Cincinnati Dutch Lions, Dayton Dutch Lions, Flint City Bucks, Grand Rapids FC, Louisville City FC U23s, Oakland County FC, and South Bend Lions FC.

FCB Chairman, Dan Duggan remarked, “For the first time in over a decade the Great Lakes Division is back to an eight team group giving us a true, complete home and home schedule against the other seven teams for our (14) game USL2 regular season.  It is going to be a balanced schedule for everyone but perhaps the most difficult division from top to bottom that we have ever seen. Every game is going to be a real battle this year.”

Prior to the Bucks regular season home opener against Grand Rapids FC, the club will host a “friendly” on Saturday evening, May 9th and a Michigan Milk Cup quarterfinal match on Tuesday evening, May 12th.  Both contests will be under the lights at Kettering’s historic Atwood Stadium. The Bucks “friendly” opponent will be announced within the next two weeks. 

The Michigan Milk Cup features (12) top Michigan based teams in single elimination brackets leading to a championship match on June 30, 2020. Last season, the Flint City Bucks were crowned Co-champions of the Milk Cup along with Oakland County FC.  (The two clubs were unable to play their title match due to severe weather at Clawson Stadium on Tuesday, July 2, 2019.) 

At the end of May, FCB will be hosting the USASA Hank Steinbrecher Cup.  This prestigious four-team national tournament features the top amateur clubs in the United States.  Last season the Bucks won their third Hank Steinbrecher Cup in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The USASA Steinbrecher Cup showcases the USL League Two champion, the NPSL champion, the USASA National Open Cup champion and an elite national club invitee.  Two semifinal matches will be held on Friday, May 29th, and the final will follow on Sunday, May 31st.  Stay tuned, a full press release will follow next week.

The USL2 playoffs will begin on July 17 and 18 with the Central Conference semifinal and final, followed by the National semifinals being held on July 25th.  The USL2 National Final will be played on Saturday, August 1st.

2020 FCB Season Tickets and Parking Passes:  Season tickets start at $85 “Bucks” and are on sale now by visiting www.flintcitybucks.com/seasontickets, www.ticketmaster.com or in person at Flint Prints in the Ferris Wheel Building on Saginaw Street in downtown Flint. Individual tickets and group tickets for all matches at Kettering’s Atwood Stadium will be on sale on Friday, March 6th.  2020 ticket prices are $15/GA VIP, $10/GA and $5/youth 12-under. Children 3-under/free. Tickets may also be purchased on match day at Atwood Stadium, two hours prior to kickoff. Milk Cup and Friendly matches are included in the Bucks season ticket package.
