France, Italy, Norway, and Canada Represented

The Flint City Bucks have signed five more players for the upcoming USL League Two season, pending league and federation approval.

Merveil Bilomba | Graduate | Defender | Lynn University

Bilomba joins from Lynn University, whose 2020-21 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Frenchman previously played three seasons at East Tennessee State University, where he started 42 career matches and became team captain.

“I’m very excited to be part of the Flint City Bucks organization for this upcoming season,” Bilomba said. “The history, the accolades, and the ongoing winning culture are what I’m most excited to experience.”

In the 2019 season, Bilomba helped East Tennessee State earn five clean sheets and the best goals-against average in the Southern Conference. His efforts garnered first-team all-conference selection, following second-team honors in 2018.

Bilomba played for Tri-Cities Otters of USL2 in 2019.

Mac Naggar | Sophomore | Center Back | Cornell University

Naggar transferred to Cornell University after his 2019 freshman season at Iona College. During the Gaels’ program-first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference title run, he quickly became a consistent starter — named to the eleven for all three conference tournament matches.

John Smith, coach at Cornell, commented upon his transfer: “Mac is a tough, pacey central defender who is comfortable with his feet. ... He is very good in 1-versus-1 situations, and his understanding of the game, coupled with his drive, make him a great on-field leader.”

Cornell’s 2020-21 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sondre Olsen | Junior | Forward | Young Harris College

Olsen started all eight regular season matches for Young Harris this spring — netting six goals and three assists. The Norwegian attacker was named to the Peach Belt Conference first team.

“I look forward to experiencing the atmosphere in Atwood Stadium on game days,” Olsen said. “Looking back at the 2019 season, it seems like a great place to play soccer.”

As a sophomore, Olsen tallied 12 goals — including three game-winners — and two assists. He scored four times in a single match against North Greenville University. For his outstanding performance, he was named to the PBC first team; the Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) all-region team; and the United Soccer Coaches all-region second team.

Olsen played for USL2 side Mississippi Brilla FC in 2019.

Gurman Sangha | Junior | Midfielder | University of Memphis

Sangha, named to the preseason All-Conference team, started nine matches and scored once during this year’s pandemic-shortened season for University of Memphis.

“I’m very excited to be part of this team, as it has a great reputation for winning,” he said of Flint City. “I’m looking forward to the upcoming season and competing for the championship.”

The Canadian attacker spent two years of high school with the Vancouver Whitecaps FC residency program. He played 36 matches with the U-16 team, amassing 11 goals and 14 assists in U.S. Soccer Development Academy play. With the U-18s, he scored twice in 17 games.

Sangha made an immediate impact upon joining the Memphis squad, totaling two goals and three assists in 19 starts during his freshman year. The Tigers made it all the way to the American Athletic Conference semifinal, with Sangha earning conference All-Rookie honors.

Sangha held that trajectory into 2019, when he spent the summer with his hometown USL2 side Vancouver TSS Rovers before returning to Memphis. As a sophomore, he was named to the All-AAC Second Team for notching three goals and four assists in 17 matches.

Ideal Shefqeti | Junior | Midfielder | Fairleigh Dickinson University

Shefqeti started all 20 games as a sophomore, scoring three goals and assisting two to help Fairleigh Dickinson University win the 2019 Northeast Conference championship. He scored his spot-kick in the deciding shootout and was named to the NEC all-tournament team.

The central midfield player also appeared in 18 matches his freshman year for the New Jersey school, scoring twice and earning a spot on the NEC All-Rookie team.

He added two goals and an assist over eight starts this spring.

FDU coach Seth Roland noted: "Ideal is a relentless box-to-box midfielder who has an engine that drives him to break up plays defensively, and then to initiate play in attack.”

Shefqeti hails from Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy. During his senior year playing with his school ITG Marinoni in Udine, he tallied four goals and nine assists in 30 matches.

He played for USL2 side Cedar Stars Rush in summer 2019.
