The Bucks (men) and AFC (women) sides compete in USL League Two and USL W League, respectively. Both will play 12-game Great Lakes division schedules, totaling a dozen regular season home matches at iconic Atwood.

Post-game fireworks will feature at both home openers, courtesy of Dort Financial Credit Union: Flint City AFC kicks off their second season against Detroit City FC at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20. The Bucks begin their campaign by facing Midwest United FC at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27.

Season tickets are now available for purchase at flintcitybucks.com/ticket, with options starting at $50 for kids 12-under and $100 for adults. For the first time, 2023 Bucks season ticket holders will also gain admission to all AFC matches, courtesy of Premier Security Solutions.  Cup matches, USL playoff dates and late-summer friendlies are expected to fill out the Atwood Stadium slate. Flint City will apply for hosting rights to USL2 and USLW playoff matches, pending team qualification.

Last season, the Bucks hosted and won the first two USL2 postseason rounds at Atwood, eventually advancing all the way to the national semifinal game in Des Moines, Iowa.

Bucks face loaded Great Lakes slate

In 2022, the Bucks placed second in the six-team USL2 Great Lakes Division, finishing a point shy of Kalamazoo FC. A rebirthed and impressive AFC Ann Arbor squad was 2 points back.

Now the South Bend Lions are joining the uber competitive field. The Lions claimed last year’s Valley Division title before falling 3-1 to the Bucks in the Central Conference quarterfinal round.

Three more returning in-state foes will round out this season’s seven-team division: Oakland County FC (Royal Oak), Lansing City FC, and Midwest United FC (Grand Rapids).  Only the top two sides will qualify for the USL2 postseason bracket.

AFC get new-look W League division

In the second year of USL W League action, expect more competitive balance throughout a tightened Great Lakes Division. In 2022, eight teams were vying for just one playoff spot.

Three teams have now been moved to a newly created Valley Division. That includes two of last season’s top three divisional finishers: Indy Eleven and Racing Louisville FC.

Expansion side Cleveland Force SC fills out the six-team Great Lakes, joining returners AFC Ann Arbor, Detroit City FC, Kalamazoo FC, and Midwest United FC (Grand Rapids).
