Flint, Mich. — The Flint City Bucks have signed goalkeeper Jakub Grzesiak for the upcoming USL League Two season, pending league and federation approval.

“I’m excited to join such a successful and titled club,” Grzesiak said. “I can’t wait to arrive in Flint and wear the jersey of one of the country's most successful minor league soccer teams.”

As a freshman this past fall at Oral Roberts University, the 6-foot-4 Poland native played every minute of 17 matches. Grzesiak led the Golden Eagles to a 10-4-3 record, making 42 saves while surrendering just 14 goals against. He recorded six clean sheets.

Grzesiak won three Summit League weekly defensive honors, on top of being named overall player of the week twice. Post-season, he was named to the conference second and newcomer teams, as well as the United Soccer Coaches west regional third team.

With the Oral Roberts squad, Grzesiak is a teammate of Bucks defender Schinieder Mimy, who was recently announced to be returning for a third year in Flint.

“Before coming here, I called my friend Mimy,” Grzesiak said. “When we talked, he explained to me that the fans here are passionate and the atmosphere here is fantastic. After committing to Flint, I watched some games on YouTube (MSN-Michigan Soccer Network) and confirmed it; the fans are incredible.  I’m excited to play with such great support.”

Before coming stateside, Grzesiak was a member of Górnik Zabrze of the first-division Poland Ekstraklasa. He played 35 games in III liga and the Central Pre Professional League.
