Players returning for the defending champions: Peter Kingston, Khai Briscoe, Bailey Letherman, Christian Engmann, Pierluca Carnovale, Charlie Gaffney, Martin Dadzie, Taketo Onodera, Ian Mejia, Declan McGlynn, Lesia Thetsane, Leo Burney. They’ve reloaded.
2 Lionsbridge FC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Virginia Beach United, 5/11, 7 pm ET
The Bridge are returning squad leaders Josh Baker and Sam Hall, and will be with dynamic attacking talent Isaiah Chisolm from day one. He’ll be joined by Kentucky teammates Joel Gonzalez and Joshua Gordon.
3 Flint City Bucks
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Michiana Lions, 5/18, 7 pm CT
The Bucks will have to cope with the loss of Hugo Bacharach, but Palmer Ault has a platform now to really step into the spotlight. The Bucks are always steady, but what will the defense look like this season?
4 Des Moines Menace
(0-0-0)
First match: vs Peoria City, 5/11, 8 pm ET
Max Broughton, Cyrus Harmon, Leroy Enzugusi – the Menace keep bringing up extremely strong rosters. The addition of top talent Marc Torrellas, who battled injury last season but was incredibly strong when fit, is going to be a major plus for the Menace this season.
5 Long Island Rough Riders
(0-0-0)
First match: vs New Jersey Copa FC, 5/19, 6 pm ET
The Rough Riders have added Ethan Dekel-Daks, a former Nottingham Forest youth player and Asheville City SC standout. The Englishman joins the consistent presence of Hofstra stars at the Rough Riders – Eoin Farrell, Roc Carles Puig and Pierce Infuso will all play key roles for the club.
6 Monterey Bay F.C. 2
(0-0-0)
First match: vs SF City FC, 5/8, 7 pm PT
Last season’s Nor Cal champions are returning several players from last year’s team, including Willy Miranda, who was a standout for the side last season. Expect them to compete again in their second season in League Two.
7 Vermont Green FC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Boston City FC, 5/19, 7 pm ET
This season might finally be the Green’s chance to break through. Tight margins kept them out of the playoffs last season, and the year before, they upset Lionsbridge FC as an 8 seed in the postseason. With returners like Yaniv Bazini and Moussa Ndiaye, Vermont has positioned itself to be one of the major players in this season.
8 Western Mass Pioneers
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Boston Bolts, 5/14, 7 pm ET
One of those teams that has consistently caused Vermont’s adversity, the Pioneers are poised yet again to be a resilient group that doesn’t drop off on the road. Khalid Rose is back in Ludlow once again, and he’s going to remain an important piece for them.
9 Little Rock Rangers
(0-0-0)
First match: vs Hattiesburg FC, 5/11, 7 pm CT
Ethan Blake’s return is a very big deal for Little Rock. He was named to the Ohio Valley Conference First Team last fall, and was the scorer of a heroic goal in the playoffs against Brave SC. The 21-year-old will be a key figure for them in 2024.
10 Asheville City SC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Southern Soccer Academy, 5/17, 3 pm ET
The Blues are bringing experience and talent in spades to League Two this year. The club has rostered five players born in 2000 or earlier, including league veteran Alex Horveno. The club has a strong identity, it’s now about stringing together the performances to compete at the top.
11 Fort Wayne FC
(0-0-0)
First match: vs Dayton Dutch Lions FC, 5/18, 7 pm ET
Last year’s Valley division champions will be considered the favorites to take the crown in the region once again – now it’s about the next level. Aurie Briscoe, the Golden Glove winner from last season, is back between the sticks and is set to anchor another imposing defense.
12 Brave SC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Florida Elite Soccer Academy, 5/20, 7 pm ET
Brave SC’s reputation as a staunch defensive unit with loads of Brazilian talent is confirmed again with their latest roster – roughly a third of all registered players for Brave come from Brazil.
13 Seacoast United Phantoms
(0-0-0)
First match: vs AC Connecticut, 5/18, 6 pm ET
Taig Healy, the Northeast Division Player of the Year, is back for the Phantoms and will be a major force in the division. The midfield trio of Healy, Marco dos Santos and Cole Dewhurst will be an imperious one for opponents to play through.
14 Ocean City Nor’easters
(0-0-0)
First match: vs Philly Lone Star, 5/25, 7 pm ET
The return of 2022 Golden Glove winner Felix Schafer and the addition of young Notre Dame star Nolan Spicer means the Nor’Easters are back in the mix for a strong 2024. Spicer was the Ohio Gatorade Player of the Year in 2021 and made the All-ACC Freshman Team.
15 Redlands FC
(0-0-0)
First match: @ Southern California Eagles, 5/11, 7 pm PT
The return of Omar Yehya is a very big deal for Redlands – the second-year club did themselves proud in their Open Cup match against LA Force, and have a big opportunity to win the Southwest Division again.
